Sufficiency: an idea whose time has come
By: Seven Stones Leadership
Imagine a world where there is actually enough of everything for everyone: enough food, enough, water, enough clean air, enough money, enough time, enough love, enough resources, enough compassion, enough of what it takes to live on this planet in harmony with everyone and everything. Sounds like a tall order.
A small group of us have been engaged in a conversation about a world that is derived out of this notion, a world where this is the context for our lives.
It is our supposition that a world that is based on these principles would be very different world in which to live.
Message From Lynne Twist:
"The Global Sufficiency Network is vitally important for today's world. I'm honored that it was inspired by The Soul of Money. But moreover, it's inspired by other people who want to live in a place of "enough" or sufficiency, not just have it as a theory but to live it, to be it, and to proliferate the conversation in a way that sufficiency shows up for people every day, all the time, as a way of life.
When we live it, there are no complaints, only gratitude. When we live it, everything begins to prosper around us. When we live it, the actual meaning of "wealth" -- the true etymological meaning "well of being" -- becomes available to everyone everywhere, all the time. And there couldn't be a greater contribution to our precious planet than that."
